Quadro Vac
Performance
A 2" wand was used to pick up the flakes of wax from
a bag, which were then conveyed through the Quadro Vac
and discharged into a tank. The tank height and line
lengths were modified in different trials to test the
performance of the Quadro Vac in different configurations.
It was found that the pump providing free air flow of
56 CFM (95 CMH) provided a good transfer rate to and
from the QuadroVac and there was no build-up or bridging
occurring on the Quadro Vac components. However, as
the tank height increased, the transfer rate decreased
as was expected.
Summary
The Quadro Vac was able to convey a delicate, heat
sensitive wax material from a drum or a bag to a tank
of variable height, with no apparent damage to the flakes
and no bridging or product build-up on the Quadro Vac
components. A good transfer rate was obtained with a
820 Quadro Vac. If higher transfer rates are required,
a 830 model would be recommended. It is also recommended
that the customer rent a unit for testing the capacity
rate when the tank is 15 feet high. A purge valve is
recommended for conveying products up a 15 feet vertical
height.
