Quadro Vac Performance

The Quadro Vac was set-up with a wand positioned on the inside of the funnel type feed hopper, extending to approximately 1.5 inches from the bottom of the hopper in order to avoid placing an elbow at the infeed. Due to the shape and size of the almonds, bridging was likely to occur at any elbows within the conveyor. An excellent transfer rate was obtained with no bridging of the product. The addition of a vibrator on the feed hopper was recommended to further optimize the performance of the Quadro Vac. Some skin was removed from the nuts causing a slight increase of dust in the discharged product. The increase was acceptable to this customer.

Summary

The conveying of whole almonds with skin by the Quadro Vac proved to be a good application for the Quadro Vac.
