Glove/Isolator Boxes provide a clean, safe and contained working
environment conducive to carrying out various manufacturing
operations. Glove Boxes are used in the Nuclear, Chemical, Pharmaceutical
and Food industries to ensure either the safety of personnel
using harmful products or to keep products contaminant-free
within the environment.
Glove Boxes consist mainly of a sealed chamber, ports with
gloves for the operator, transfer ports, and an air purifier
control system. There are many options provided by various
glove box manufacturers. To ensure operator safety, Glove Boxes
are generally under negative pressure. (A Glove Box would
be under positive pressure if contamination of the process
were an issue). Glove Boxes are manufactured to certain pressure/vacuum
ratings and therefore, the vacuum/pressure must be controlled.
Quadro has worked with various Glove Box manufacturers in
order to incorporate the Quadro Comil for pharmaceutical
processes. The Quadro Comil is very well suited
to the Glove Box application due to the following:
- Compact design - minimize the required Glove Box size.
- Low airflow generation - minimize required vacuum pump.
- Low dust generation - maximize filter life of the Glove Box.
- Low noise generation - less than 80 dBA.
- Low energy usage - requires less energy supply.
- Easy impeller and screen change without tools - ease of manipulation with gloves.
- Spacerless design - no adjustments necessary for optimum results.
- Minimum contact surface area - minimizes product hang-up in mill.
- Low heat generation - greater thermal control, if necessary.
- Complete CIP design available - complete containment even during the cleaning cycle
- Design of the Comil allows the motor to be mounted inside or outside the Glove Box.
- Comil with inert control system available.
- Quadro customizes mill to end-user's specific requirements.
