Innovative Technology For Size Reduction

Low Heat

  • Excellent for milling products with a low melting point and high fat content.

Low Dust

  • Minimal product loss.
  • Environmentally friendly.

Ideal For Small Batches

  • Minimizes product hang-up in Mill.
  • Easy storage.
  • Easily integrated for glove box application.
  • Easily integrated into mini-systems.

User-Friendly Design

  • Quick screen change.
  • Easy-clean, low maintenance.
  • Full selection of tooling.
  • Variable speed motor for scalability.

Principle of Operation

The infeed product is introduced into the conical screen chamber. A rotating impeller imparts a vortex flow pattern to the incoming material. The material is then forced to the screen surface by centrifugal acceleration, ensuring continuous delivery into the "action zone" between the screen and impeller. In the "action zone," the material is sized or size reduced and instantaneously discharged through the screen openings. The finished product is discharged at the bottom of the milling chamber. Screen, impeller selection and/or speed can optimize particle size.

  1. Capacities are based on tests with a standard pharmaceutical placebo with 3% micro-crystalline cellulose (MCC). Capacities may vary significantly based on product characteristics, particle granulometry, and inlet and discharge conditions. Consult your local representative or Quadro for product testing.
  2. U3 capacity test based on granular salt. U3 Units are designed to achieve repeatable and scalable results with small product test samples. For salt, PSD repeatability acheived with sample as low as 10g (0.3oz) with minimal product retention.
